The braces your orthodontist, Dr. Firoz Lalani, installed in your mouth are made from a series or metal brackets, bands, and other various hardware. They are designed to realign your teeth for a better functioning mouth and a more appealing smile. This is done by applying progressive tension to the braces to gradually stretch the periodontal ligaments that are anchoring your teeth in their positions.

Consistency is important throughout the alignment process. If you miss an adjustment session, it will likely increase the total duration of time it takes to achieve your ideal smile. So, if you know of an upcoming scheduling conflict, you should call us to set up another appointment.

It’s not unheard of for a spacer to fall out shortly before you’re due for your next adjustment. When this happens, you should call A Dental Care to alert us. We might simply recommend scheduling a sooner adjustment.

Each adjustment session also includes an examination of your braces hardware. Sometimes a band or spacer might need to be replaced due to regular wear and tear. If you’ve noticed a problem with your braces, you should alert your orthodontist so he can give it special attention.

If you are due or overdue for your next adjustment session for your braces in Houston, Texas, you should call to schedule an appointment at A Dental Care.

To help you ease into your orthodontic treatment, our A Dental Care team is happy to tell you what to expect during your first appointment with your orthodontist, Dr. Firoz Lalani.

When you come into our office, we will likely give you a tour to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. Then, you will experience the following steps:

Step 1: First, your orthodontist will thoroughly examine your mouth to determine if you need treatment. If you do need treatment, the examination will help your orthodontist know where to start. The exam will include taking X-rays and photographs of your mouth. Your orthodontist will explain any alignment issues you have.

Step 2: If you do need treatment, our team will take impressions of your teeth. These impressions will be used to help your orthodontist determine the best treatment plan for you. Then, we will inform you on the treatment we think is necessary, explain the treatment costs, and discuss your financing options and payment plans.

Step 3: Your orthodontist will thoroughly explain the recommended treatment to you. You will know all about the suggested appliance and you will also receive an estimate of the treatment time that will likely be needed.

Your first appointment will be simple and easy. If you have any questions about your first orthodontic appointment in Houston, Texas, or if you would like to learn more, please feel free to call our office today. We are more than happy to help you, and we look forward to hearing from you!
